Obituary
Adrian Darnelle Cotton Sr. was born on March 1, 1970, in Detroit, Michigan, to his loving
mother, Redonna Faye Tharpe. He was lovingly raised by both his mother and father,
Pleasant Tharpe. Adrian attended church during his childhood and was educated in the
Detroit Public School system, where he also enjoyed participating in sports.
Adrian was known for his kind, generous, and fun-loving spirit. He was always willing to
lend a helping hand to anyone in need, especially the elder members of his family. His
outgoing personality allowed him to build many lasting friendships, and he was truly loved
by all who knew him.
In his free time, Adrian enjoyed spending time with his son, relaxing with friends, listening
to music, watching sports, and attending family gatherings. His presence brought joy,
laughter, and warmth to every room he entered.
Adrian will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his
memory his beloved son, Adrian D. Cotton Jr.; his sister, Marquita Tharpe Williams (Erik);
special cousins, Charlotte Wells, Terry Wells, Mark Wells, and Terrenia Wells; his best
friends, Stephan Little, Pamela Reid, and Pugh Bey; the mother of his son, Hope Lockhart; a
special friend, Heather Austin; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends.
Adrian was preceded in death by his loving parents, Redonna Faye Tharpe and Pleasant
Tharpe.
